AVU Imaging: Mobile Veterinary Ultrasound
AVU Imaging is a service bringing mobile diagnostic imaging directly to your practice in the South West and South Wales. With over 20 years of experience as a first-opinion vet, working across small animal medicine, emergency care, and surgery I understand how important accurate ultrasound assessment of the abdomen or heart can be in making informed clinical decisions.
What I offer:
On-site ultrasound scanning
Targeted sampling (aspirates, biopsies)
Emergency guidance and stabilisation (e.g. pericardiocentesis)
Radiograph assessment for thoracic and abdominal cases.
I’m Tom Crippen MRCVS. I currently work, when not providing ultrasound in other practices, in a large South West veterinary hospital where I mainly provide imaging cover across ultrasound, CT acquisition and radiograph interpretation. I’ve recently completed a three-year BSAVA postgraduate certificate in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging. I aim to offer practical, pragmatic support for your cases based on real world experience.
How does it work
• Click the book a case button below or at the top of the screen.
• I’ll get back, usually the same day, with a few dates I can come to your clinic with my ultrasound.
• Plan on about 1–1.5 hours for the appointment.
• I’ll need a nurse to help for the session.
• I’ll leave summary notes on your system straight after the scan and send a full report usually with interesting images within 24–48 hours.
